ARTS 301 Studies in Humanities - a course and public lecture series
Offered each year, Arts 301 is an interdisciplinary course open to the public alongside enrolled students. In Winter 2012, Arts 301 is themed 'Scholarship for an Uncertain World': our understanding of society, environment, and human existence has been particularly challenged in recent years. Please join us on Monday afternoons to learn how scholars from Arts explore these issues.
Waterloo Stratford Campus presents...
The Waterloo Lectures
We bring leading scholars, forward thinkers, and experts from the uWaterloo to the City of Stratford to address an eclectic range of topics. Open to the public and free of charge, in this series you have the opportunity to, ask uWaterloo faculty about their work and discuss broad issues, learn more about critical social issues and the role you can play in working for change, discover how uWaterloo research contributes to society today.
The Digital Media Lecture Series
In this series of lectures, Arts and non-Arts researchers explore topics in digital media, technology and innovation. Open to the public and free of charge, in this series you have the opportunity to: learn about and discuss broad issues surrounding digital media, hear about digital media research and innovation being done at uWaterloo.
Waterloo Centre for German Studies
More than just a research centre. The WCGS presents an outstanding range of cultural and educational programming not only for members of the university but also for interested community members. Through film festivals, public lectures and performances, the WCGS offers experiences, entertainment and insights about the German language, cultures and its peoples.
Arts Computer Experience (ACE) Camp
ACE is an exciting alternative summer day camp for children ages 7 to 12. Blending classroom learning and outdoor activities has proven to be a winning combination at ACE Camp for 28 seasons, and counting. We provide children in the community with an excellent opportunity to explore their creativity while developing new skills in art, computers, drama, and music.
Arts departments welcome you
Individual Arts departments, schools and affiliated colleges regularly offer free public lectures that cover topics as numerous and diverse as our Faculty – from quirky and specialized fields to the most pressing public issues of the day.
