Omar Ganai is pursuing a doctoral degree in the field of Industrial-Organizational Psychology because he wants to create real world improvements for individuals in multicultural workplaces. His experiences growing up in various parts of the world, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and the United States of America, exposed him to many cultural heritages. As a result, he became interested in how culture affects social interaction and management in organizations. Currently, he is investigating how multicultural teams come to develop a shared team identity and how this identity influences team performance.

Research Areas: Communication, Conflict Management, Multicultural Teams, Leadership
Lindie’s research focuses on how conflict and communication influence team performance in teams that are composed of different demographics (e.g., culturally homogeneous teams, multicultural teams, culture faultline teams). She is also interested in looking at how the process of group norm formation impacts the relationship between conflict and team identity over time in student workteams. In another line of research, Lindie is currently examining the role of leader communication style in perceived leader effectiveness across cultures. Lindie’s other research interests include intercultural communication, negotiation, and the effect of leader-subordinate relationship on workplace outcomes.
