About Us

The Ontario Women's History Network is a not-for-profit organization, affiliated with the Ontario Historical Society. The aim of the Network is to encourage the preservation, production, and dissemination of women's history in Ontario, with a special emphasis on the teaching and study of that history.   The Network welcomes students, teachers, professors, archivists, librarians, researchers and others interested in women's history. The Network is supported by the Department of History at the University of Waterloo.

The Network has 3 categories of members: sustaining members, general members, and student members.

There are 6 directors consisting of the Chair, Deputy Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and 2 Directors at-large.  All three categories of members are eligible to be directors.

There is an annual general meeting at which the Directors are elected. In addition, the Network normally sponsors an annual conference and works with Green Dragon Press to distribute a women's history poster each October. From time to time, the Network co-sponsors events with other organizations.
